The historical windmill at the Schiffertor is the only of three that has survived. It is over 600 years old and was completely rebuilt and restored. It is located centrally in Stade within sight of the Stadeum.
Today the building is indispensable for the students of the Vincent- Lübeck- Gymnasium. The accommodation, which was donated by the rural district and the city of Stade is being used for activities of the working groups 'Jugend Forscht'.
The students have been very successful with extraordinary presentation at home and abroad.
